Position Description Statement
Manufacturing Engineer - project
1. Location
This position is located at the Central PA facility. Minimal travel required.
2. Purpose of Position
Candidate must be able to perform engineering/technical assignments using manufacturing engineering practices and principles in a fast paced lean manufacturing environment. Develop, procure and implement the equipment and processed necessary for the successful introduction of new products, including the assembly of PBCA and other electronic assemblies.
3. Key Responsibilities
Demonstrates ability to perform as a self-starter to drive continuous improvement efforts in areas of responsibility. Continually seeks new opportunities to improve both processes and products.
Develop and de-bug SMT assembly and or AOI test programs for production test equipment and printed circuit boards (PCBs).
Develops and implements assembly programs within schedule and budgetary parameters.
Monitors and debugs production procedures to ensure system efficiencies.
Prepares design concept drawings, cost estimates and implementation schedules for production equipment and tooling.
Reviews and recommends changes to mechanical drawings and process documentation.
Interfaces with other manufacturing departments to address and resolve engineering issues.
Interfaces with vendors and outside sales personnel to evaluate, cost estimate, and select purchase parts and production equipment.
Interface with technical contacts within other companies
Review prints
Develop and meet schedules
Provide updates
Develop / improve new product introduction processes
4. Relationships
Reports to an Area Manager, Manufacturing Engineering Team Leader or Manufacturing Engineering Manager
Works directly with Manufacturing Engineers, Test Engineers, Design Engineers, Cell Operators, Marketing representatives, and Members of Management from various companies across the globe.
5. Measures of Performance
Product quality, as measured by internal and external yield loss.
Product cost, as measured by ability to complete projects within budget
Product delivery, as measured by the ability to complete projects within the scheduled period
6. Background and Skills
Bachelors Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering
Minimum of One (1) to three (3) years of experience in PCBA and electronic box build required.
Knowledge and experience with lean tools and principles would be beneficial.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Microsoft Project.
Experience with AutoCAD preferred but not required.
